When to edit vs. when to close<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
- Edit<\/strong> when the goal is still active but the brief needs work — clearer title, refined description, more skills, updated budget, different schedule, or new attachments.<\/li>
- Close<\/strong> when the goal is no longer active — you’ve hired someone (on or off Tutorac), your plans changed, or you posted by mistake.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Editing keeps the Training Requirement live and continues to attract new proposals. Closing stops new proposals from coming in but leaves the post visible to you and existing applicants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Open the Training Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Sign in to Tutorac and go to Trainings → My Trainings Posts<\/strong> (
tutorac.com\/student\/job-post<\/code>). Use the status tabs (All \/ Draft \/ Active \/ Hired \/ Closed) to find the requirement you want, then click View Details<\/strong> on its card. (See How to view and compare proposals<\/a> for a walkthrough of this hub.)<\/p>\n\n\n\nEdit an Active Training Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
On the Training Requirement details page (the one with Proposals<\/em>, Search & Invite<\/em>, and Hired<\/em> tabs), look just below the tabs — you’ll see two actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- A green Edit<\/strong> link (with a pencil icon).<\/li>
- A red Close<\/strong> link (with an X icon).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure>\n\n\n\nClick Edit<\/strong>. Tutorac takes you to the same Review Details & Post<\/strong> page you saw when posting the requirement, with every field pre-populated. You can change any of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- Title<\/strong><\/li>
- Description<\/strong><\/li>
- Skills<\/strong> — add, remove, or swap chips (minimum 4 skills).<\/li>
- Duration and Timeline<\/strong> — when you plan to start.<\/li>
- Training Level<\/strong> — Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.<\/li>
- Timings<\/strong> — daily, weekly, weekend, custom.<\/li>
- Budget<\/strong> — hourly range or fixed price.<\/li>
- Attach relevant files<\/strong> — add or remove files.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Click Post Now<\/strong> to save changes and republish, or use Back<\/strong> to return without saving. Existing proposals and conversations are preserved when you edit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Edit a Draft Training Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
If your Training Requirement is still a Draft (saved but not posted), the listing card shows an Edit Draft<\/strong> button instead of View Details<\/em>. Click it — Tutorac opens the same Review Details & Post page so you can complete or revise the draft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Drafts aren’t visible to tutors, so editing a draft has no effect on anyone else until you click Post Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Close an Active Training Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
From the same details page, click the red Close<\/strong> link. Tutorac opens a Close Requirement<\/strong> confirmation modal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- What closing does:<\/strong> “Closing this requirement will stop new Proposals and notify current applicants. Your existing hires will not be affected.”<\/em><\/li>
- Reason for closing<\/strong> — pick one of five reasons (see below).<\/li>
- Two buttons: Cancel<\/strong> (abort) and Yes, Close Requirement<\/strong> (confirm).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Picking a reason helps Tutorac understand outcomes, but it doesn’t change anything visible to tutors beyond the closed status. When you click Yes, Close Requirement<\/strong>, the post moves to the Closed<\/strong> tab and stops accepting new proposals immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Closing reasons explained<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
- No suitable match found<\/strong> — The proposals you received didn’t fit your scope, level, or budget.<\/li>
- Requirement was cancelled<\/strong> — The learning goal itself is no longer relevant (course paid for elsewhere, plans changed, etc.).<\/li>
- Filled through another source<\/strong> — You found a tutor outside Tutorac.<\/li>
- All positions filled<\/strong> — You hired one or more tutors against this requirement on Tutorac and don’t need more.<\/li>
- Created by mistake<\/strong> — You posted the requirement accidentally or as a duplicate.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
What happens after you close<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
- The post stops appearing to new tutors and won’t accept new proposals.<\/li>
- Current applicants are notified<\/strong> that the requirement is closed.<\/li>
- Existing hires are not affected<\/strong> — any Training Contract you’ve already started continues normally under Trainings → All Contracts<\/em>.<\/li>
- The Training Requirement’s card moves to the Closed<\/strong> tab on My Training Posts.<\/li>
- Inside the closed post, you’ll see a banner: “This post is now closed and will no longer receive new proposals.”<\/em><\/li>
- You can still view the original brief and any proposals you received.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Viewing a Closed Training Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Open the Closed<\/strong> tab on My Training Posts and click View Proposals<\/strong> on any closed card. You’ll see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- The original Training Requirement (skills, level, budget, description) under the View Post<\/em> link.<\/li>
- Every proposal you received, with the same comparison layout as Active requirements.<\/li>
- The closed-status banner at the top.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Edit and Close actions are not available on a Closed requirement — the post is read-only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FAQs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Can I reopen a closed Training Requirement?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
A closed post stays closed. If your goal becomes active again, the cleanest path is to post a new Training Requirement<\/strong> — you can copy the title, description, skills, and budget from the closed post. Fresh posts attract new proposals faster than reopened ones would.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Will tutors still see my requirement after I close it?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
No new tutors will see it in the marketplace. Tutors who already sent a proposal are notified that the requirement is closed, so they know not to expect a hire from this post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do existing proposals get deleted when I close?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
No. All proposals and message threads remain attached to the closed Training Requirement. You can keep reviewing them and message tutors if needed — only the ability to receive new proposals stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If I hire a tutor, does the requirement close automatically?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Hiring a tutor moves their proposal into the Hired<\/strong> tab but doesn’t auto-close the Training Requirement. If you don’t need more proposals, close it yourself with reason “All positions filled”<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Can I edit while proposals are coming in?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Yes. Editing a live Training Requirement updates the brief for new tutors viewing it; existing proposals and conversations are preserved. If you make a significant change (very different scope or budget), it’s polite to message current applicants so they can decide whether to revise their proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What if I close by mistake?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Since reopening isn’t supported, post a new Training Requirement with the same content. Tutorac support can help via the Help Center<\/em> if you closed an active requirement that had pending proposals you still want to honour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why pick a reason for closing?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The reason is mainly for product improvement — Tutorac uses it to refine matching and outreach. It is not shared publicly. The five options cover the most common reasons learners close requirements; pick the closest fit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
